Talkspirit Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

We are proud to announce that Talkspirit has just achieved ISO 27001 certification, an international information security standard valid for three years. As outlined during our 2023 product roadmap presentation, obtaining this certification is part of our ambition to make Talkspirit one of the most secure digital workplaces on the market.
What does ISO 27001 certification involve? Why did we seek it? And how did the certification process unfold? We explain everything below 👇
What Is ISO 27001 Certification?
ISO 27001 is an internationally recognized standard that certifies an organization has implemented a robust and effective information security management system (ISMS).
What is an ISMS? 🤔
An ISMS (information security management system) refers to the set of policies, processes, and tools put in place to manage and mitigate information security risks.
It makes it possible to:
- better identify and anticipate cyber threats (such as phishing, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, etc.),
- manage security risks associated with the organization's critical and sensitive information,
- and implement security practices designed to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data (such as two-factor authentication, password managers, and information classification).
Why This Certification?
At Talkspirit, we place great importance on the security and confidentiality of our clients' data. That's precisely why organizations like CEA (the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), the French Army, and École Boulle have chosen us.
To reinforce this commitment, we sought ISO 27001 certification as a testament to the high level of security within our information systems.

According to Splunk's "State of Cybersecurity 2022" report, 65% of organizations are seeing an increase in cyberattack attempts, and 49% report having experienced a data breach in the past two years.
In this context, it was essential for us to put robust security processes in place to reduce these risks and prevent data loss, leaks, or theft.
For Arnaud Brons, Head of Product at Talkspirit, "achieving ISO 27001 certification is a further step toward improving the performance of our information security management system. With this certification, we can now better address cyber risks and offer our clients a trusted solution."
As proof: according to a study by Afnor, 89% of ISO 27001-certified organizations report fewer security incidents since achieving certification.
How Did We Achieve It?
Obtaining this certification mobilized our infrastructure, development, and product teams, along with our newly formed security team. To meet the requirements of the ISO 27001 standard, we reviewed all our data security policies and processes, including:
- our DRP (disaster recovery plan),
- our employee onboarding process,
- our data management policies,
- and more.
This certification was also an opportunity to refresh our employees' awareness of information security best practices and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

A thorough audit was then conducted by a specialized body to verify compliance with the ISO 27001 standard.
After months of hard work, our efforts finally paid off. Today, we can proudly say that Talkspirit is ISO 27001 certified 🤩.
What's Next
Of course, we're not stopping here! Another security certification is planned in our 2023 product roadmap: the SecNumCloud qualification.
Issued by ANSSI (the French National Cybersecurity Agency), this qualification certifies that a solution has achieved one of the highest levels of security on the market. To obtain it, an organization must demonstrate compliance with all the security best practices and requirements set by ANSSI.
The qualification process is lengthy and demanding, but it aligns fully with our ambition: to offer the most secure collaborative platform available on the market.
