Connecting 160 staff, from the office to the field
"With Talkspirit, information flows faster, more easily, and more freely. It lets people from different departments and hierarchical levels talk to each other, and strengthens cohesion between staff." — Michel Gueit, Director of Digital Innovation and IT, Venelles Town Hall

Connecting 160 staff, from the office to the field

A town betting on digital
Venelles is a town of 8,600 residents north of Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). Its town hall has 160 staff spread across several sites — roughly half in offices, the rest in the field. Its goal: modernise ways of working by embracing digital and collaborative tools.
Moving beyond all-email, all-phone
Until late 2019, the town hall communicated almost exclusively by email and phone. Two problems.
Information doesn't reach everyone
Emails, texts, calls, free messaging apps: communication between departments got lost across channels.

Driven by leadership, accelerated by lockdown
Why Talkspirit: ease of use and quick onboarding, a 100% French DNA with hosting in France (data security), and the ability to fold customer requests into the roadmap.
A launch backed by the CAO
Talkspirit is deployed alongside other collaborative tools, with strong backing from the chief administrative officer — a driver of adoption.
Lockdown speeds everything up
Mandatory remote work makes Talkspirit the tool that unites staff and maintains team cohesion remotely.
All information on the platform
Monthly internal newsletter, town events, HR information, best practices: everything runs through the feed and topic groups, findable via search. No more emails all day long.
Groups that keep the network alive
"The Coffee Machine" for chatting about anything, "Town Hall Cooking Pot" for sharing recipes, "A Day, A Flower" where the head of green spaces posts a daily riddle and rewards winners. A friendly atmosphere that strengthens ties.
Fewer emails, more connection
What the internal social network changed at the town hall.
Internal volume sharply reduced
All information now goes through the platform: staff save time, and inboxes empty out.

Real-time exchanges
Chat connects the office, remote work, and the field: instant feedback, surveys, live answers — "much faster than an email or a text."

Staff brought together
Successful informal groups and a feedback culture: online camaraderie strengthens ties between departments and hierarchical levels.
