réseau-T: SNCF Group’s Social Network for Mobility Enthusiasts

While Talkspirit is most often used internally within organizations to address communication, team cohesion, and collaborative work challenges, some organizations choose Talkspirit to manage and animate their communities. That is the case for the General Secretariat of SNCF Group, which has spent the past few years building a community of mobility enthusiasts: réseau-T. We are pleased to share the testimonial of Isabelle Million.
réseau-T in a Nutshell
As Director of Institutional Communications at SNCF Group, I report to the Group’s General Secretariat. In this role, I manage several social networks, including réseau-T. Launched in 2011 by Stéphane Volant, Secretary General of SNCF Group, réseau-T is a place for conversation, debate, and idea exchange on the topic of mobility. Today, the network brings together nearly 600 mobility enthusiasts, and aims to connect the company directly with young people — and not-so-young people — on the subject. “Perhaps among réseau-T’s ranks, we are nurturing a future President of SNCF,” Stéphane Volant likes to say. We called on Talkspirit three years ago to give this community a fresh impetus through a new technical setup and editorial content strategy.
Why We Chose Talkspirit
We had a previous setup that was quite limiting and wanted a tool that would deliver a step-change in terms of scale and community management. Talkspirit won us over with the ease of onboarding and the platform’s availability, particularly on mobile.
We were also impressed by the quality of the vendor’s response: their expertise in social networking and their deep understanding of our context were decisive factors.

Beyond Talkspirit’s references within the Group, we were also drawn to the company’s genuine commitment to being invested in the project with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
Goals of the ESN Deployment
On the technical side, our main goal comes down to robustness and simplicity. We need a platform that can keep its promises as the network scales up. Technology should never be an obstacle.
On the community management side, our social network has gone through two phases. In the first phase, our goal was to energize the community by renewing its original promise: to make it a rich space for exchange and a gateway to privileged interactions with the Group. That goal has been achieved. We are now focused on growing the community while paying close attention to the quality of new members joining, and on deepening the connection between the community and the Group’s interests.

How We Use Talkspirit
The platform supports quite varied use cases that have developed organically over time:
- Information sharing, discussions and debates within themed groups
- Communication via chat
- Collaborative work in the context of group projects, with document sharing
- News monitoring through integrations.
Talkspirit connects easily with a wide range of content sources — blogs, forums, social networks, and more — and automatically pulls in news related to specific content. These integrations accelerate the flow of information and multiply opportunities for exchange and dialogue.
What Makes Talkspirit Stand Out
We particularly appreciate the quality of our relationship with the team. The precision of their answers, their strong involvement, and the genuine availability of the team are also what we value most about Talkspirit.
The solution is especially well-suited for building a social network and animating communities around content sharing. Its ease of use, intuitive onboarding, and platform reliability make it a top-tier choice.
